Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles (Level 2) at Buckinghamshire UTC

Course description

The knowledge and practical skills already gained in the IMI Award programme are further developed within this course to give you the confidence to gain employment in the Motor Vehicle Industry.

What Will I Learn

You will gain basic practical skills of all aspects of general car maintenance and repair through workshop experience, and this will be backed up by a foundation of basic knowledge gained from class work.

  • Removing and Replacing Engine Units and Components
  • Removing and Replacing Electrical Auxiliary Units and Components
  • Carrying out Routine Vehicle Maintenance
  • Removing and Replacing Chassis Units and Components

Entry requirements

You will have a minimum of 3 (D) grade GCSEs including English and Maths or have achieved the IMI Level 1 Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance (QCF) at merit grade or above. You will need to show genuine interest in the automotive industry.
