Where could this lead?
A Physics qualification will open the door to a whole range of career choices and physicists are in great demand.
Physics students from Churchdown have gone on to careers in these fields in the last few years: Aircraft Designer, Lotus Car Engineer, Radiographer, Orthoptist, Lawyer, Industrial Chemist, Trainee Airline Pilot, Software Security Programmer, Medical Technician, Neurologist, Dentistry, Telecommunications… to name but a few!
Will it suit me?
If you enjoy Science and are curious about the way the world works, right from the tiniest of atoms to the furthest flung galaxy or how science can be used to improve our health, environment and standard of living, then Physics is for you.
You need to be reasonably good at Maths and enjoy solving problems. The course is assessed in a series of module exams spread throughout the year to keep the workload manageable.
