Sociology at Waseley Hills High School and Sixth Form Centre

Course description

Sociology is well suited to those students who wish to develop an understanding and awareness of the society in which we live. Moral and social issues are central to the study of sociology and students will be expected to ‘think for themselves’ in areas in which there are sometimes no right or wrong answers. Students must be prepared to take part in formal discussion, group work and presentations. Assessment will be topic-based using past examination questions and short answer assignments.

Entry requirements

Success in English at GCSE will be useful for both AS and A2 Sociology.
