AS - Course & Module Description

The course consists of two units:

A practical unit which encompasses the use of spread sheets, word processing and presentation software.

A theory unit which examines the use of ICT in the home, business, medicine and education. It also looks at the ICT needed to support these in terms of data collection and processing. The unit also includes the ethical, moral and legal aspects of the use of ICT in modern society.

A2 - Course & Module Description

The course is similar in structure to AS involving a more in depth look at the place of ICT in modern society and in particular its use in a business environment.

The practical module of the Year 13 course involves producing a single piece of coursework based on use of a database to automate manual practice in a business, education of the home. The topic is chosen by the student in conjunction with their teacher and a client.
