Physical Education A Level at Berwick Academy

Course description

The course is both practical and theory based with students selecting a sporting activity to be assessed in. The course is designed to allow students to learn about many different aspects of Sport and Physical Education. 

You will have to demonstrate skills in non-competivite, structured practice situations and in the competitive format of your own sport. You will also have to analyse/evaluate your own and others' performances. You will take on the role of performer, coach, referee or umpire whilist developing your leadership skills. 

In the theory lessons you will cover work on anatomy and physiology, sport psychology, skill acquisition, sport and society, biomechanics and the role of technology in sport.

There may also be opportunities to undertake leadership awards which will assist with your study.

GCSE Maths and English at Grade C
