BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary - Music Technology at Chase Terrace Technology College

Course description

The Level 3 BTEC Subsidiary Diploma offers greater flexibility and a choice of emphasis through internally assessed mandatory and optional units. There are many wide and varied opportunities for careers within the music business. The two new music based qualifications that we are offering our students this year will give them the opportunity to gain understanding and practical skills in a variety of areas of this complex industry. The specification includes units that explore the many and varied careers available within this complex and ever growing industry. The Edexcel Level 3 BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Music Technology (Production) consists of one Mandatory unit plus five Optional units that total 60 credits for the completed qualification. Mandatory unit Music Production Techniques Optional units Sequencing Systems and Techniques Sound Creation and Manipulation Delivering a Music Product Introduction to Acoustics Listening Skills for Musicians Music Technology in Performance Operating Live Sound Sound Creation and Manipulation Special Subject Investigation The Music Freelance World The Sound and Music Industry Backline Technical Management Marketing and Promotion Sequencing Systems and Techniques Option choice will be negotiated with students
