Course description


Whether you want to build your functional skills alongside an introduction to Early Years or you want to gain your EYE qualification, we have a course to fit your needs.

BCA has much to offer, including:

  • A team of well qualified and supportive staff
  • An on site Nursery catering for children aged 3 months to 5 years
  • Opportunities to support ‘Farms Days’ working with 5-7 year olds from local infant schools
  • Trips to a forest school

Course content

With significant vocational experience over the year, this course is a full-time programme specifically designed for those who wish to obtain UCAS points or an introduction to working at L3 with children. This course is also suitable for those who want to undertake a top up Apprenticeship. You will learn the core skills required to recognise children’s patterns of development, and plan activities and strategies to promote and support Children’s Play, Learning and Development.

Entry requirements

5 GSCEs (or equivalent) at C grade or above. It is essential that these GCSEs contain English and maths at a grade C or above.

Future opportunities

For people who already have some UCAS points, this course will provide the top up required to gain entry into Higher Education. Alternatively, this course could be used to gain knowledge and introductory skills before undertaking an Early Years Educator Apprenticeship.
