Course description

This course is for those who want to gain beauty therapy and/or ladies and mens hairdressing skills, knowledge, plus industry experience, through working in a realistic salon environment.
 
Students will get the opportunity to develop the skills learned in the classroom in our own commercial Riverside Salon and also practice many new aspects of beauty therapy and hairdressing.

Course content

Working in hairdressing, health and safety in the salon, teamwork, basic make-up, face painting, photographic make-up, manicure, pedicure and nail art, reception

Entry requirements

No formal qualifications.

Financial information

No cost for 16-19 year olds.

Future opportunities

After completing this course the next step is to progress onto the Level 2 beauty, or the Level 2 hair and media make-up, based on achieving required Level 1 functional skill in English and Maths.

      By Road: 
      The Rochdale campus is 2.6 miles from junction 20 of the M62. Follow the signs for Rochdale town centre
      By Rail:
      Rochdale train station, with frequent connections to Leeds, Bradford and Manchester, is a ten minute walk from the Rochdale Campus through the town centre. It is also a Metrolink station, Manchester’s light railway system, which links Rochdale with Oldham, Bury and Manchester City Centre.
      By Bus: 
      The Rochdale bus station is approximately 5 minutes walk from the Rochdale campus. There are frequent bus services throughout the borough which terminate in Rochdale.
