Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Level 2 Subsidiary Diploma at Warwickshire College Group

Course description

This course is designed for students who have already completed the Level 1 Maintenance and repair course and wish to continue their motor vehicle studies on a full time basis, to enhance their skills and knowledge. This course runs on three days a week, in order to provide students with the opportunity to seek appropriate motor vehicle work experience whilst studying at college. During the one year programme, individual vehicle systems are studied in greater detail.

  • Fuel and exhaust
  • Electrical/electronic systems
  • Brakes
  • Suspension and steering

Entry requirements

IMI/C&G Level 1 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent. Mature students with appropriate industrial experience may have direct entry. Students must have a minimum of 3 GCSE's at Grade D / Grade 3 or above to include English and Mathematics.

Assessment

Practical Assignments

Online, written and practical assessments.

Future opportunities

If you complete additional units and obtain the full diploma, you can find employment in vehicle maintenance and repair as an apprentice. You can also continue studying towards your Level 3 in vehicle maintenance and repair on a day release basis.
