Business Studies (Law or Accounting) BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma at Stafford College

Course description

This course is designed to prepare learners for appropriate direct employment in the vocational sector of business and it is broadly equivalent to three GCE A Levels.

 

Some learners may wish to gain the qualification in order to enter a specialist area of employment or to progress to a higher education foundation degree, HND or other professional development programme.

 

Learners may elect to study a specialist pathway in the qualification which entitles them to include the chosen specialism in their qualification title e.g. Extended Diploma in Business (Law) or (Accounting).

  • Accounting Systems

 

Entry requirements

Students should be 16 years of age and possess either 4 GCSE’s at Grade C or above and have English or Mathematics at Grade C or functional skills equivalent at Level 2, or Level 2 Diploma award in a related subject at Merit or Distinction grade.

Assessment

All assessment for EDEXCEL Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma is criterion-referenced, based on the achievement of specified outcomes.  All units contributing to a programme carry either internal assessment.  All units contain contextualised-grading criteria and will be individually graded as “Pass”, “Merit” or “Distinction”.  To achieve a pass grade for the unit learners must meet the assessment criteria set out in the specifications.

 

The units in EDEXCEL Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma qualifications all have a standard format which is designed to provide clear guidance on the requirements of the qualification for learners, assessors and those responsible for monitoring national standards.
