A Level Further Mathematics at Hasmonean High School

Course description

Further Mathematics at A2 will put you in an excellent position to study Mathematics or a subject with a very high mathematical content at university.

Areas of study are the same as Mathematics. However, Further Mathematics takes you further into the field of Pure Mathematics (Algebra, Trigonometry and Calculus) as well as more fully developing your knowledge of Applied Mathematics (Mechanics, Statistics and Decision Maths).

Entry requirements

Grade A* in GCSE Mathematics.

The ability to work at a quick pace and develop a high level of understanding is needed.

Assessment

In addition to the 6 modular exams for the A2 Level in Mathematics, you will need to study an extra 3 Mathematics modules for AS Further Maths or 6 Mathematics modules for A Level Further Maths. Each module exam lasts 90 minutes. Each module carries equal weighting.
