Design Technology: Product Design 3D at St Aidan's and St John Fisher's Associated Sixth Form

Course description

The course offers the facility to follow a broad based Product Design course or to specialise in one of the disciplines, stimulating independent learning, creativity and innovation. It can provide students with the opportunity to apply other areas of study e.g. Physics in a practical context.

AS Units:

Unit 1: : Materials, Components & Commercial Processing and Design Environment & Ergonomics
Unit 2: Coursework - This is a school chosen design and make activity

A2 Units:

Unit 3: Design and Manufacture, Market Influences and Manufacturing Processes
Unit 4: Coursework - Students produce a written design folder. They submit evidence of a single, substantial designing and making activity, of their choice.

Entry requirements

Completion of a full course GCSE Design & Technology subject.

5 GCSEs A*-C Grade
