3D Design at The Castle School

Course description

Those with a flair for working in 3-dimensions will enjoy applying their artistic skills to create objects and visualisations that can cross the boundaries between art, design, architecture and other creative disciplines. Students will learn new 3D skills and techniques whilst working in a variety of materials. Students seeking to go further in their study of Art often complete a one-year Art Foundation course at a local Further Education institution before applying for a university degree course.

Art is a practical but intellectually stimulating subject aimed at developing creative confidence and expression. Students work from their strengths and interests and are guided through learning new skills to ensure they achieve their best. Learning in lessons and independent research will help develop their personal responses to a wide variety of ideas, observations, experiences, environments and cultures. The AS is 100% practical coursework, whereas the A2 course includes a short, written personal investigation and a practical examination.
