Animal Care - BTEC Level 2 Diploma at Treviglas Community College

Course description

Animal Biology, Aquatic Animals, Caring For and Monitoring of Animals.  All units are assessed through the completion of portfolios.

Is this the course for me?

You need to have an interest in animals and their biology. Be prepared to get your hands a bit dirty when caring for the animals.

You also need to be prepared to meet deadlines and organise your time effectively.

Course content

Studying animal biology through research & practical experiments, setting up and maintaining a tropical fish aquarium.

Entry requirements

4 Grade E’s at GCSE

Assessment

Through a variety of assignments (coursework). There are no examinations for this course.

Future opportunities

This qualification can be topped up to achieve the full BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Animal Care, after which you can progress onto level 3 Animal Management. It is a useful qualification to prepare you for other animal-related courses, e.g. Veterinary Nursing.
