AS Level (year one)
Unit IT1 - Information Systems
This module will provide students with the opportunity to acquire knowledge of information systems through practical experience, in using applications software in a structured way, to underpin theoretical understanding.
Unit IT2 - Presenting Information
This module requires candidates to use ICT hardware and software applications to solve a problem in three separate tasks; (i) a document such as a leaflet or magazine, (ii) a document containing automated routines, such as a mail merged letter, (iii) a presentation to an audience, such as a web page or slide presentation.
There is no need to have studied ICT at school; although, a grade C in English Language is required.
Assessment will be based on coursework (45%) and examinations (55%). All students will be assessed throughout the course, using homeworks, theory tests and practically based assessment.
