Geography at St Anthony's Girls' Catholic Academy
All candidates will study core human and physical geography. In each area of study candidates will consider their own values and attitudes to the issues being studied and support their learning of ideas through the study of specific case studies. Candidates will also develop a variety of geographical skills, which will broaden and deepen existing knowledge.
Previous knowledge of geography at GCSE is not really necessary. Students who have followed the GCSEcourse will notice a logical progression. Practical fieldwork remains important for both the physical and human geography components. Students will, therefore, be encouraged to undertake research tasks in thelocal area and participate in a residential field course. Fieldwork brings the theory of the classroom to life and is particularly enjoyable.
