Course content

We base our courses on employment needs of the region. Therefore, you can expect to learn topics that are relevant to the industry. Your course will be made up of a mixture of core modules, that are essential to the course requirements, and units that you can choose to specialize in yourself. You'll be guided by your tutor on which units to choose that will best suit you. Entry requirements

If you want to start a career as a Carpenter or Joiner then this is a great course to get a solid understanding of the skills and knowledge to be successful in the industry. You'll study on a practical and theoretical basis to get a grip on the techical aspects and you'll also improve your Maths, English and ICT through Functional Skills sessions. As a minimum you will need GCSEs at grades E or F or an Entry Level qualification in Carpentry and Joinery.

Future opportunities

You can progress on to a Level 2 Diploma in Site Carpentry or Bench Joinery. You can also seek employment and, if successful, progress on to an Apprenticeship.
