Site Carpentry Level 3 Diploma at Heart of Worcestershire College

Course description

Do you dream of becoming a highly skilled carpenter or setting up your own business? If the answer is yes, then this is the course for you. Our Diploma in Site Carpentry will introduce you to a range of advanced carpentry techniques that allow you to carry out exciting new projects that will prepare you for a great career in the industry.

Our course will develop your practical skills and widen your knowledge of construction theory. You will learn about curved stud work, complex roofing such as hips and valleys and learn how to use woodworking machines such as a spindle moulder and cross cut saw. You will also be involved in using drawings, job sheets, plans and geometric techniques to complete your work. Other modules include; Workplace Safety, Cost Efficiency, Environmental Issues, Construction Industry Regulations and Safe Working Practices.

Entry requirements

You will need 5 GCSEs at a level C or above, or a relevant Level 2 qualification.

Future opportunities

Once you have successfully completed this course you can continue onto an HNC in Construction. You will also have the opportunity to progress into employment or, through combining this qualification with a Level 3 NVQ, an advanced apprenticeship.

Subjects taught at Alliance House include bricklaying, carpentry and joinery, site carpentry, bench joinery, multi-trade construction operations, plastering, plumbing and painting and decorating. The building is equipped with purpose built working environments allowing you to develop real-life working skills to prepare you for life after college.

      Located on Albert Street, Osprey House is the College’s central office. It is also home to the College’s higher education and professional courses. Our excellent range of higher education and professional courses provide you with the skills, knowledge and support to progress in your future career.
