lectrical Installation (Buildings & Structures) Level 3 NVQ Diploma Apprenticeship at Harrogate College

Course description

Knowledge units are taught in College, Performance units are assessed in the workplace. 
The course is designed for trainees who are in full-time paid employment within the electrical contracting industry working on buildings and structures.

Course content

The knowledge units consist of: Electrical science & principles, Health, safety & related topics, Electrical craft theory along with practical exercises, Inspection, Testing, Maintenance and Commissioning of Electrical Installations.

The preformance units are the practical elements of the knowledge units and are achieved by observation in the workplace to assess competence.

Keyskills at level 2 (English/MAths/ICT) are a mandatory part of the course unless proxy qualifications are available.

Entry requirements

GCSE's grade A-C in English, Maths & Science Subject and/or reach the required standard on initial assessment.. Good Colour Vision is required.

Assessment

You will be assessed in College by set assignments, written papers and screen-based testing.

Financial information

Candidates are expected to provide own protective clothing and footwear for the workshop. Will also need to purchase text books recommended by the course tutors.
