Children's Care, Learning and Development Level 3 Extended Diploma at Coleg y Cymoedd

Course description

This course provides the knowledge and practical skills necessary for working in a variety of Childcare settings. Time is spent in college and in a number of appropriate work placements, in order to gain experience in planning and carrying out activities for children and to observe children's development.

Course content

You will study a range of units, such as, Theories of Child Development and recent policies and initiatives in Childcare.

Entry requirements

You will require the Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Care, Learning and Development

You must have satisfactory clearance with the Disclosure and Barring Service .You will be invited to attend an interview. During this interview, you will undertake an assessment in literacy and numeracy to establish any support required.

Assessment

You will be assessed using a range of methods, which will include assignments, externally marked extended essays and practical assessment in work placement.

FT Registration Fee - £20.00

Future opportunities

After successfully completing this course, you will be able to apply for Higher Education courses/degrees in a relevant subject area or employment within a childcare setting e.g. schools, nurseries, special schools, day-care centres, hospitals or working for private families as a nanny.
