Applied Science Level 3 BTEC Subsidiary Diploma at Newham College of Further Education

Course description

This course investigates the application of science through practical activities from which the theory is then drawn. This provides opportunities for you to develop your practical laboratory skills to a high level. There are laboratory-based practical assignments, supported by self-study, presentations, group work and discussion. You will be externally examined on 2 units during the first year and another 2 units during the second year.

Entry requirements

All students on level three courses must meet the college criteria of: 5 GCSEs passes at grades A*-C with English and Maths at grade C or Key Skills in applied communications and applied numeracy at level 2. Overseas equivalence - determined by qualified guidance staff within admissions or Level 2 courses with Key Skills in applied communications and applied numeracy.

Future opportunities

You can progress onto the Extended Diploma.
