A good reference.
Good IT skills (and access to a computer and the internet from home is necessary).
During the course you will receive practical and theory lessons. In practical lessons you will work through a series of units to develop your hands-on skills. The theory sessions provide you with the underpinning knowledge needed to apply your skills in the salon and practice sessions. Theory is assessed through a combination of external multiple choice exam papers, written on-line assignments and oral questioning. Practical sessions are assessed using observation, oral questioning and examining products of work.
On completing the course you may wish to explore other avenues such as a Foundation degree in Hairdressing or may wish to seek work or continue employment in areas such as senior management, teaching, assessor, demonstrator, manufacturers technician/rep or freelance consultant.
Many students now run successful local businesses. Some are involved with the training and development of apprentices within their salons and work in partnership with the Lowestoft College Hairdressing Team.
