Health - Subsidiary Diploma at Childwall Sports & Science Academy

Course description

This BTEC Level 3 qualification is vocational and related to the world of work in health and social care. It can be studied at 3 different levels: the Certificate, Subsidiary Diploma and Diploma; equivalent to 1 x AS; 1 x A level or 2 x A levels respectively.

Course content

We study a wide range of health related topics including health promotion, anatomy and physiology, dietetics and nutrition; equality and diversity. The Diploma involves 200 hours of work placements at Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust Hospital.

Entry requirements

Minimum of 5 A*- C grades (or equivalent) in 4 different subjects

GCSE Maths and English must be retaken if not at a C grade.

Future opportunities

Health and Social Care can lead to a wide range of health or social care related careers including: Midwifery, Paediatric or Adult Nursing, Social Work, Physiotherapy, Teaching and Sports Science.
