Vehicle Maintenance IMIAL Diploma Level 1 at Bracknell and Wokingham College

Course description

If you wish to work in the vehicle service and repair sector or progress onto a higher level qualification at college this Institute of Motor Industry course is for you. You will learn in a friendly, professional and well equipped environment, with qualified and dedicated lecturers who have a wealth of knowledge of the motor industry. Learning will take place in both the classroom and motor vehicle workshop. Units include: • Tools, equipment and materials for vehicle maintenance • Ignition engine systems, components and operation • Steering and suspension systems components and maintenance (four wheels or more) • Vehicle braking systems components and maintenance • Routine vehicle maintenance processes and procedures on vehicles (four wheels or more) • Vehicle exhaust systems components and maintenance

Entry requirements

• You will need three GCSEs at grade D-E in maths, English and Science and have a keen interest in motor vehicle servicing repair • If you do not have a grade C in GCSE English Language and maths you will be required to work towards achieving this alongside your course

• Further education - IMIAL Light Vehicle Maintenance Level 2 course • Apprenticeship - or Employment in the field of motor vehicle engineering
