Course description

The BTEC Introductory Diploma in Health and Social Care has been designed to provide a broad educational basis for further training, further education or for moving into appropriate employment within the health and social care sectors.This course enables students to reflect on their own learning skills as well as further academic and vocational routes into their chosen profession. It explores core concepts relevant to work in the sectors including:* Rights, society and discrimination* Care provision* Nutrition and the role of the carer at mealtimes* Professional behaviour* Health and safety* Personal care* Creative activitiesPlus functional skills in Maths and English

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at Grade E including maths and English. All successful applicants will be required to complete a Criminal Records Bureau check.

Assessment

A selection of assignments and timed assessments graded Pass. Requires 1 week block placement.
