Hairdressing Intermediate Apprenticeship at Darlington College

Course description

This Apprenticeship will provide you with a range of hairdressing skills and knowledge to develop your skills whilst working in the hairdressing industry as an apprentice. You will be employed in a hairdressing salon as an Apprentice and the qualification will allow you to work as a Junior Stylist.

  • Set and dress hair
  • Colour hair using basic techniques
  • Cut hair using basic techniques
  • Perm and neutralise hair
  • Employer rights and responsibilities
  • Personal learning and thinking skills

Entry requirements

You will need 4 GCSEs at grade D-E including maths and English, although a grade C in either English or maths is desirable, or a Level 1 Hairdressing qualification. Mature students will be assessed on individual merit. You must be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week in a relevant environment for the duration of the Apprenticeship.

You will be required to attend an interview at the college for all courses and Apprenticeships and we will request a school or college report.
