Economics - A2 at Wallington County Grammar School

Course description

A2 Economics is the study of choice and decision-making in a world with limited resources. It offers a way of thinking about the world that enables us to make the best of what we have. Economics affects our everyday lives from our jobs, our wealth, the public services with which we are provided, right down to the cost of taking out a mortgage and the price of a pint of beer. Students will be expected to read the Business and International sections of a quality newspaper and read periodicals such as The Economist, as much of the material will be studied through a variety of real-world scenarios. You will develop a range of personal transferable skills including: analytical and problem solving skills; communication skills; team working skills; and political awareness, which are in great demand and are recognised by employers, universities and colleges as being of great value.
