Health & Social Care A2 Level (single award) at Samuel Lister Academy

Course description

This course provides students with a broad knowledge and understanding of health, social and early year's issues affecting the Care sector.  Students' learning is applied to a range of work-related contexts through links with local employers, case studies and research. 

Course content

A2 compulsary units:

  • Working in health and social care
  • Human development
  • Plus 4 optional units

Entry requirements

5 or more GCSEs at C or above including Maths and English and preferably Science.  Success at AS level.

Assessment

You will be assessed through both examined and portfolio units.

Future opportunities

You will learn skills which colleges, universities and employers will require - problem solving, working with others, wroking on own initiative. The qualification allows for a number of progression routes:

  • Higher education and access to university courses
  • Health e.g, nursing and social care
  • Social work and education
  • Further training and employment.
