This course offers the Advanced Apprenticeship in Customer Service. You will gather evidence for the Level 3, complete functional/key skills in Communication, Number and ICT and knowledge studies. Evidence will be gathered in the workplace. You will be trained both on and off the job. You will further develop the skills needed for working in a customer service environment, which could include developing working relationships with other people, supervising an office or department in a retail facility, planning and managing customer liaison etc. This apprenticeship prepares you to play an important support role within a business or organisation. Customer service is critical in ensuring a business runs smoothly -employers say that effective customer service is essential to their business, so they do a crucial job. The term 'customer service' covers roles that involve liaison both internally and externally. Without them, businesses would be less productive. The Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship is for those who work on their own initiative, planning and organising their own work and/or supervising others, for example, a project manager or supervisor. As a customer service apprentice, your exact duties will depend on your employer. It is likely that you'll be working with a team or member of staff to handle various tasks. You may be making phone calls, sending emails, attending meetings or selling face to face. This sort of work requires a strong sense of responsibility, accuracy and attention to detail. One of the great things about customer service is that you can work almost anywhere. With your transferable skills, you could be working in a record company or a charity. Customer service roles are also an excellent starting point to move into management once you have more experience.
Level 3 Diploma in Customer Service; functional/key skills in Number, Communication and ICT; Employment Rights and Responsibilities; enhancement courses and activities, e.g. Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity.
Level 2 in Customer Service preferable, experience of working in a suitable envirionment.
The course is assessed mainly in the work place, but also off the job.
The course is fully funded for 16-18 year olds.
The course offers you a specialist work-based qualification to support a range of careers in customer service. With further training, you could continue to develop your career in customer service by getting a job within retail or sales, or by moving into management.
