Shopaholics wanted for Retail Apprenticeships at Interserve Learning & Employment Manchester

Course description

If you love to shop and provide a service that delights people every day, working with others in a fast moving commercial environment with amazing career opportunities, then a job in retail could be just the thing

As a leading Apprenticeship provider, we have some fantastic opportunities available NOW across the country for young people to work in various roles including retail sales assistant, customer service representative, merchandiser and assistant store manager.

Apprenticeships are full time jobs with training towards industry recognised vocational qualifications so you will learn how to do the job as you actually do it. You will be employed from day one and receive a real wage, so there's no need to get into debt by going to college because you are getting paid to study.

Apprenticeship features

Apprenticeships areavailable at Intermediate and Advanced levels depending on your age and ability, and include an NVQ certificate or diploma in retail, as well as essential qualifications in maths and English to support your ongoing development. You will be guided by our professional assessors every step of the way who provide one-to-one support and guidance throughout your Apprenticeship.

What skills will I learn?

What you study will vary depending on your job role and responsibilities, for example if you are working in a front of house role it will require a focus on customer service and admin skills. Here are some typical examples:

  • Managing customer relationships
  • Receiving and storing goods
  • Processing customer orders and returns
  • Preparing goods and produce for sale
  • Displaying and merchandising stock
  • Helping customers to make purchases

Where can it lead?

With an Apprenticeship you can progress onto advanced, higher or even degree level training. As you move up you gain more experience and responsibility and many people naturally become team leaders and managers.
