BTEC National Level 3 Sub Diploma/ Diploma in Travel and Tourism at Clacton County High School
Travel and Tourism has become an important part of how we live today as most people travel regularly for work and for leisure.
This course will enable you to gain a worthwhile vocational qualification through coursework and continual assessment. You will develop an understanding of the industry as well as knowing the roles and relationships of organisations within the Travel and Tourism sector. Additionally you will gain competency in identifying significant geographical features and major holiday destinations as well as doing a research project on the UK Travel and Tourism destinations. The qualification also enables progression to undergraduate Degree qualifications and professional occupations in tourism-related fields. You will also develop personal qualities essential for career development and progression within the sector and learn the appropriate knowledge and skills including location geography, customer service, business skills and industry practices.
This course can help you to gain a greater understanding of the world in which we live and develop vocational skills learnt in geography that can be useful in a future career.
Essential: A minimum of four GCSEs (grades A*-C) is required, normally including either Maths or English or a Merit in BTEC First Diploma. The Travel and Tourism industry requires people who can show initiative, be reliable and responsible, and are appropriately qualified.
Desirable: Self-motivated and presentable as this could lead to a role working with the general public.
