Course description

Why choose ICT?

Strong ICT skills are vital for almost every career path and are specifically important for web design, video game production and computing. The course is practical, enjoyable and highly rewarding.

What does the course involve?

The coursework in Year 12 is largely focused on designing and preparing the presentation and promotional material for a business. Students will produce graphical leaflets, mail-merged letters and a presentation with animated, photographic, audio and video content. Analysis and evaluation of design content is engaged and various software packages are employed to complete the project.

The Year 12 exam looks at both technical and social aspects of ICT and is aided by a pre-prepared spreadsheet. Questions on networks, databases and the validation of information are all covered.

In Year 13, databases are covered in more detail and a higher level of capability is attained.
