Health and Social Care Level 3 (BTEC Subidiary Diploma) at Barking and Dagenham College

Course description

If you are interested in a career in nursing, social work, and want to move on to university for further study you will need to complete this course before moving on to the BTEC Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care at Level 3. You will study this Subsidiary Diploma for one year, and the Extended Diploma for the second year. To progress to university need to achieve Merits and Distinctions for the units studied. You will study a range of important units which build your knowledge, confidence and opportunities for that future valuable career. This programme also aims to improve your research and study skills in preparation for university, including: - Communication; - Equality, Diversity and Rights; - Vocational Experience; Anatomy and Physiology; - Psychology; - Sociology; - Personal and Professional Development To qualify at Level 3 you have to successfully achieve 180 credits, of which 20 credits is a mandatory placment of at least ONE-DAY a week.
