Mathematics AS/A2 Level at Holte School

Course description

You will develop your abilities to reason logically, identify flaws in incorrect reasoning and to generalise and construct mathematical proofs. Through these techniques you will gain an insight into solving unstructured problems and build a framework for tackling ‘real world’ problems algebraically.

All pupils will begin the 2-year A-level course at the start of the year. During the first term pupils will be assessed in December to determine their suitability for either the A level or the AS level course. Pupils will then follow either pathway for two years. All module exams take place in June. There will be regular tests to monitor the pupils’ progress. For more information, please speak with Mr S Young.
