Introduction to Animal Nursing Science at Newton Rigg College

Course description

This one year Level 3 course will give you the opportunity to develop your animal handling skills, knowledge and understanding of animal health, care and nursing, while building on the animal based science skills which will help support any future progression to more formal and specialised veterinary nursing pathways.

Course content

• Animal health • Fundamentals of science • Anatomy and physiology • Animal biology • Animal nursing • Animal handling and safe working • Accommodation and feeding • Welfare and breed development • English and maths provision where applicable

Entry requirements

Applicants are normally expected to have 5 GCSEs at grade C or above to include English, Maths and Science or equivalent.
