Spanish AS & A Level at Coloma Convent Girls' School
The course aims to develop the language skills, knowledge and understanding acquired at GCSE to enable students to communicate confidently and effectively in Spanish for a range of purposes. Studying Spanish in the Sixth Form will enhance students’ employment prospects and prepare them for further study.
Further opportunities for language enhancement are offered through magazine subscription, study days, films, on-line resources and individual work experience in Spain.
Through the study of a variety of relevant and interesting topics, the course will provide a vital insight into the culture and society of Spain, and other Spanish-speaking countries. Students will develop their interest in, and enthusiasm for, language learning. They will improve their spoken and written expression, analyse factual and fictional texts and communicate their opinions in Spanish. They will find the course both intellectually stimulating and enjoyable.
