Product Design A2 Level at South Wirral High School

Course description

This course provides opportunities for the student to identify, analyse and evaluate problems and then use their experience and knowledge of materials, processes and related technologies to solve these problems. The course is an excellent progression from GCSE Resistant Materials and Graphic Products.

Course content

Product Design is the study of how products are designed and manufactured in industry. The specification is directly related to industrial practices in the workplace.

The coursework is a client based design and make project and consists of:

Entry requirements

GCSE Grade C or above in Resistant Materials or Graphic Products.

PROD2 Learning through Designing and Making - Coursework approx 50 Hours

A Level Unit 3
PROD3 Design & Manufacture 2 Hour Written Paper

A Level
PROD4 Design & Make Practice Coursework approx 60hrs
