Geography at Beverley Grammar School

Course description

AS Modules include:

Module 1 Physical and Human Geography
Students must study four topics, rivers, floods and management, and coastal environments from the physical section and population change and health issues from the human section.

Module 2 Geographical Skills
A geographical skills paper based on the content of module one. The skills include investigative, cartographic, graphical, ICT and statistical.

A2 Modules include:

Module 3 Contemporary Geographical Issues
Students study three issues:
* Physical options - Plate Tectonics & associated hazards
* Ecosystems Change & challenge
* Human options - World cities

Module 4 Geography Fieldwork Investigation
The fieldwork investigation will give the students the opportunity to extend an area of the subject content into a more detailed fieldwork study giving the students the opportunity to use their skills of analysis, synthesis and evaluation.
