Course description

Plasterers are highly skilled workers and sought after in a variety of industries for the important skills they can bring to a project. Having the Plastering Advanced Level 3 Apprenticeship to your name will benefit you in gaining steady work and being successful when going against competition to gain clientele. 

Advance your skills from level 2 with our Plastering Advanced Level 3 Apprenticeship and learn how to apply plaster to complex interior surfaces and install fibrous & cement moulds. You will get the opportunity to choose from two pathways, the fibrous plastering route and the solid route which will help to advance your skills to the next level. If you’re interested in working with plaster and what’s required to become a skilled tradesman, the Plastering Intermediate Level 3 Apprenticeship could be your entryway into the industry. You will study different techniques for indoor plastering as well as the skills to fix angle beads, cut and fix plaster board, mould cornices and conserve and restore old plasterwork to its original condition. This qualification will give you the basic knowledge to apply plaster materials to internal & external surfaces and the fundamental skills to complete projects with a professional finish.

Fibrous Plastering Route
Applying Plaster Materials to External Surfaces, 
Fix Dry Lining & Plasterboard to Interior Surfaces, 
Form Sand & Cement Screeds, 
Produce & Install Complex Fibrous & Cement Moulds & Castings 
Solid Route
Apply Plaster to Complex Interior Surfaces such as Curves & Acute Angles, Fix Dry Lining & Plasterboard Products to Interiors, Form Screeds & Granolithic Finishes, Position & Secure Fibrous Components  
Additional Study
Functional Skills in Maths & English, 
Personal Learning & Thinking Skills (PLTS), 
Employee Rights & Responsibilities, Safety and Use of Abrasive Wheels 

Entry requirements

Employment within the industry 
Plastering Intermediate Apprenticeship Level 2


You will attend College one day per week, plus in some cases occasional periods of block release. Periodically an assessor will visit you in the workplace to carry out on-site assessments. You will prepare work based evidence and be assessed across a range of activities to demonstrate the development of your skills and knowledge.
