The Level 3 BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Business is equivalent to 1 A level. This course offers a fascinating insight into how the commercial world works. You will learn about the structure of business organisations and the processes involved in planning, setting up and running a business venture, such as management and human resources, finance, marketing, basic economics and ethics and the importance of innovation and creativity in business.
The course covers a range of Business concepts with a particular focus on Marketing. You will have the opportunity of attending a variety of talks and excursions related to your assignments to enhance your understanding of the Business world.

You should meet the standard 6th Form entry requirements. It is preferred that students have a minimum of a grade B or a Merit at BTEC Level 2 in this or a related subject.
This qualification is assessed via 100% coursework which will incorporate individual submissions, presentations, paired and group work.
The assessment approach of the BTEC qualifications in Business allows learners to receive feedback on their progress throughout the course as they provide evidence towards the assessment and grading criteria.
A Merit grade or above from the course could take you on to a business related degree course in higher education. A Pass grade will provide entry to a foundation degree course or a management trainee job. This qualification is particularly helpful for students interested in a career in business or finance.
