Philosophy and Ethics at St George's Catholic School

Course description

The study of Philosophy and Ethics makes a particular contribution to candidates’ understanding of spiritual, moral and cultural issues by encouraging them to reflect upon their own attitudes, and those of others, to the topics under consideration.

This course will aim to build on the foundations of religious inquiry established through GCSE and seeks to challenge students to explore in greater depth what it means to be a religious person in the modern world drawing support and guidance from religious texts. They are given the chance to investigate their ideas to moral situations and to critically analyse different philosophical viewpoints.
