Health and Social Care Level 1 at Northampton College

Course description

This course provides a basic introduction to working in Health and Social Care and offers opportunities for moving on to further study. The method of learning is through classroom based activity. The choice of units gives a broad overview of what it's like to work in Health and Social Care and of the different areas. Units may include: - Health and Social Care provision - Principles and values in health and social care - Safeguarding and protection in Health and Social Care - Communication in Health and Social Care - Health and safety - Equality and inclusion

Course content

Students who wish to gain a qualification which will prepare them for employment in the Health and Social Care sector.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at Grade E or above including English and Mathematics.

Assessment

Students will be assessed through written tasks, assignments and practical activities.

Future opportunities

Opportunities include:- Level 2 study- Level 3 study- Apprenticeship- University- Employment

Further information

You will need to purchase stationery including a notebook, diary, lever arch file and pens. If you are aged 19 or over on the 1st September 2012 the examination fee will be approximately £90.
