Mathematics - Use of Mathematics at The Ridgeway School and Sixth Form College
What will I be studying?
During Year 12, students will cover the modules:
- Working with algebraic and graphical techniques
- Decision maths and Applying mathematics
The Working with algebraic and graphical techniques module is examined in January (provisionally), Decision maths and Applying mathematics are taken together in June. 50% of the course is portfolio.
Where can this take me?
The course is designed to appeal to those who are not necessarily brilliant at maths, but supports the mathematical techniques and knowledge needed for many other subjects including physics, chemistry, biology, economics and psychology.
At least 4 C grades at GCSE (or equivalent) in at least 3 different subjects.
