Sport Btec Level 3 Extended Diploma at Chichester College

Course description

Coaching & Teaching, Outdoor Adventure and Fitness & Injuries are 3 possible routeways that you can follow in the 2nd year of the course. Each route has different units to reflect the industry you are looking to enter. You will develop the skills needed to start a career in the sports industry. This course is equivalent to three A Levels and is accepted by universities for entry. 

Course content

There are 10 units in Year 1 - 4 compulsory and 6 specialised which will enable you to study particular areas in-depth Compulsory Units * Principles of Anatomy and Physiology in Sport * The Physiology of Fitness * Assessing Risk in Sport * Fitness Testing for Sport & Exercise All students take three specialised subjects in: * Fitness Training & Programming * Sports Psychology * Sports Development * Nutrition * Physical Education & Caring for Children & Young people * Outdoor Adventure If you are aged 16-18 you will follow a study programme consisting of your main qualification, English and maths, enterprise and enrichment. 

 
You demonstrate your learning by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. The course will be theory based sessions delivered in the classroom and practical sports sessions. 

Entry requirements

You will need to have at least one of the following: * BTEC Diploma in a related subject graded to a minimum of a Merit * At least five GCSEs at Grades A - C including English and Science

Assessment

All units are assessed via coursework and an overall grade for the qualification awarded - (Pass, Merit, Distinction criteria)
