IT with Cisco Systems Support & Networking BTEC National Level 3 Diploma at The City of Liverpool College

Course description

The course covers the Cisco CCNA, BTEC National Diploma in IT (Systems Support) and some Microsoft Server content. It is aimed at students wishing to move into the field of IT support or those already working within the field to progress in their careers.

The course is delivered alongside the BTEC National Diploma with units that relate to the content of the Cisco qualifications including Computer Systems, Computer networks, Managing Networks, Communication Technologies, IT technical Support and Project Planning with IT.

The qualification is aimed at those who already possess good knowledge and understanding of ICT systems and desktop support and who wish to extend their knowledge and skills. It is also suitable for those who are already employed in a system support role. The qualification will also meet the needs of those who are studying in preparation for roles that will involve system support activities. You will be working in specialist computer labs and workshops.

The full CCNA course is also available for study at home where practical work and practice exams can be completed in the student’s own time.

The course is delivered alongside the BTEC National Diploma with units that relate to the content of the Cisco and Microsoft qualifications.

Entry requirements

Applicants should be at CompTIA + standard or possess the CompTIA A+. A short entry exam is undertaken by students not in possession of CompTIA A+

Future opportunities

Enhanced employment opportunities or Level 4 study including Cisco, Microsoft and CompTIA Professional Qualifications. Also access to Foundation Degree or Degree level study.
