IT - BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma at Tech City College

Course description

International security, business management and personal relationships have all been fundamentally changed by advances in computing and information technology. This BTEC course will help you develop a range of professional skills and qualities, as well as knowledge of a wide range of subject areas such as computer design and programming, possible threats to computer systems and the impact of computing technology on social interaction. Employability skills are also a core topic on the course.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade C or above.


You will be assessed through coursework and assignments.

Future opportunities

The BTEC National Diploma Course is equivalent to three A-levels and carries up to 360 UCAS points, depending on your final grade. It can lead to a place on a related course at university, such as computer science, electrical engineering or software engineering. It is also a valuable qualification to have if you are interested in working in the IT sector, the games industry or the multimedia sector.
