Hairdressing Level 2 Diploma at West Herts College

Course description

Develop your hairdressing skills, working alongside tutors with a wealth of industry experience. Our professional salons serve paying customers and you’ll be using the latest equipment and highest-quality products.

Course content

You'll participate in hairdressing competitions and events, areas of study include:

  • Advising and consulting with clients

  • Shampooing and conditioning hair and scalp

  • Blow drying, setting and dressing hair

  • Cutting and styling hair

  • Hair colouring

Alongside your course you will study practical English and maths and take part in GAP work placements to develop skills and confidence.

Entry requirements

Successful completion of Level 1 Diploma in Hairdressing. You will also be required to attend a course introduction meeting.

Future opportunities

NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing, or work as a junior in a salon, in television, on cruise ships or as a photographic session stylist.
