BTEC Creative Media Production Level 3 at Castell Alun High School
Media are channels through which information is transmitted to the public - be it a soft drink label or satellite signal. As technology develops, the number of ways in which information can be transmitted increases.
The more media, the more messages. The more messages the more arguments about their content, about who should create them and about who should own or control them. It is no wonder that almost every aspect of the media is controversial in Britain today.
Television, radio, newspapers and advertising etc, provide a constant barrage upon the individual. The importance of studying the media, its power and influence, becomes more desirable if not essential.
BTEC Creative Media Production offers the opportunity to create, investigate and evaluate Media Production.
BTEC Creative Media Production offers students the opportunity to:
- enhance their enjoyment and appreciation of the media and its role in their daily lives;
- develop critical understanding of the media through engagement with media concepts and through the creative application of production skills;
- explore production processes, technologies and other relevant contexts;
- become independent in research skills and their application in their production work and in developing their own views and interpretations.
