Level 2 1st Certificate / Diploma in Hospitality at James Calvert Spence College

Course description

This is a one-year course and is aimed at those students who are interested in hospitality and catering. This course leads to a Level 2 BTEC qualification. The course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of how the hospitality industry operates. It covers topics relating to customer service, the local and national hospitality industry, safety, planning and culinary skills.

The course has sixteen units of work. There are six units of which two are externally assessed. Internal assessment will be through a range of activities including written work, presentations, group activities, practical food work and work related experience. With this qualification in hospitality students can progress onto an NVQ course in hospitality or seek training and employment in the tourist, hotel or food industries.
