Course description

City & Guilds Level 3 diploma course, to increase bricklaying skills and knowledge, to have the ability to start working as a supervisory bricklayer in the construction industry. Students learn about more complex House and wall construction, Brick bonds, Construction materials, Bricklaying tools their care and uses, Building regulations and Health & Safety. In the workshop students learn how to use tools and materials to build larger and more complex brick and block walls.

Entry requirements

Diploma/NVQ level 2 in trowel occupations, and working in the bricklaying industry.

Assessment

Completion of course portfolio, assessment of student practical work, written tests based on student coursework, external online examination at end of the course year and Functional skills Examination.

    • This is our purpose built Construction campus. This campus opened in 2003 and has great workshop facilities and learning areas. You will study at this campus if you enrol on a Construction course or study day release to learn your chosen trade.
